Telkom`s discussions with Vodafone and MTN are still ongoing, the company said yesterday.
A second later, MTN renewed its cautionary notice, stating the discussions concerning "certain assets" of Telkom are ongoing.
The discussions between the three companies have been the subject of much market speculation.
Telkom`s share price rose 8%, to R190.99, on the back of its initial announcement last month. Its shares are currently trading at just below R177.
MTN`s share price, which initially saw a 3% decline, to R106, after the September announcement, has since seen its value climb to above the R110 mark.
