PC peripheral company Logitech has unveiled two iPod dock speaker systems to allow users easy access to music wherever they are.

The two products are the Logitech Rechargeable Speaker S315i and the Logitech Portable Speaker S125i.

According to Logitech, the rechargeable speaker delivers up to 20 hours of listening time (in power saving mode), and allows users to play music while it's plugged in and charging their iPod.

The company says the rechargeable speaker uses custom, full-range drivers to accurately reproduce the highs and lows of songs, and is also made to be taken wherever users want.

According to Romain du Gardier, sales and marketing manager for Logitech SA, the portable speaker is ideal for first-time iPod owners who are always on the move.

The company says listeners can take it wherever they go, and play and charge any iPod model with the Apple Universal Dock Connector, or connect other music players using the 3.5mm auxiliary input.

The portable speaker weighs less than 500g and runs on AC or battery power, with up to 10 hours of battery-powered music, states Logitech.

The speakers are expected to be available locally in October for a suggested price of R1 199 (Rechargeable Speaker S315i) and R799 (Portable Speaker S125i).
