Wireless Business Solutions (WBS), provider of iBurst mobile broadband, has denied allegations that it has changed its user tariffs without notification.
Several irate users have contacted ITWeb alleging that WBS is in breach of contract, having introduced an apparent "pay per byte" scheme, without notifying customers. It was also alleged the group had placed a monthly 9GB limit on bandwidth available per user.
However, WBS COO Thami Mtshali denies any policy change, quashing rumours that a limit has been placed on monthly available bandwidth.
He did, however, say that users who have repeatedly failed to pay their accounts had been cut off from iBurst, following telephonic notification.
"These people were cut off, but about 80% have paid what they owe and have been reconnected. We have gone out of our way to call people and ask them to pay, before cutting them off. It`s not in our interest to cut anyone off," Mtshali says.
He comments that no hikes in monthly bandwidth charges are expected, adding that any future price movements would most likely be downwards.
