HP unleashes network monitoring
HP's ProCurve Networking enterprise LAN switching business has incorporated sFlow technology into its Wireless Edge Services xl Module for its switches, reports Bi-Me.
SFlow is an IETF specification - RFC 3176 - that uses packet-based traffic sampling to provide network-wide visibility.
It is intended to improve insight into network traffic both in wired and wireless environments, allowing customers to respond to security threats, and balance large network deployments.
SMC introduces wireless router
SMC Networks has released its new SMC Barricade N Draft 11n Broadband Router, reports TMC Net.
The router is an all-in-one networking solution for connecting and sharing high-speed cable/xDSL Internet connections.
The solution combines a high speed Wireless-N access point, 4-port 10/100 switch, firewall with stateful packet inspection, intelligent stream handling technology and a user-friendly Web-based management interface.
Nokia Siemens supplies termination equipment
Nokia Siemens Networks has won a contract to supply Ethernet last-mile access products to Belgacom's Carrier Ethernet Backbone, which will feature data connectivity with higher bandwidth, better performance and increased security, reports Edubourse.
Under the contract, Nokia Siemens Networks will supply, implement and service the ADVA Optical Networking FSP150 product line from its solutions portfolio.
Belgium's leading operator has already started the implementation of the new features, which is scheduled to continue over the next three years.
