Vodacom has supplied figures that show December was the best month in its nine-and-a-half year history.
It recorded 627 000 new South African customers in that month, and its records show nine million active customers in the country.
Outside SA, the network has 1.25 million customers.
"This was Vodacom`s best month since we started service in SA on 1 June 1994," says Alan Knott-Craig, Vodacom Group CEO.
"We remain the leading network in SA with more than 54% market share."
