Johannesburg, 05 Jul 2000

Oracle South Africa has appointed Lenore Kerrigan as local MD, after a three-month span without an MD at the helm.

Kerrigan takes the position after a seven-year career at Hewlett-Packard, during which time she held a number of senior executive positions. She began her career as a chartered accountant before moving into the IT industry 16 years ago, thereafter starting her sales career at IBM as well as running a financial accounting systems business for a further seven years.

"My priority will be to ensure that Oracle South Africa is structured and totally focused on delivering the best solutions to our clients," says Kerrigan. "It`s an exciting challenge and one where we have to move very quickly as the market demands fast cycle response to ever-changing business needs."

"The search for the right person has taken some time but we believe that this is the most important IT position in the South African marketplace," says Bob Gordon, senior VP of Oracle, Middle East Africa.

"Kerrigan has all the qualities we require to take our business forward in these exciting times. She has many years experience in the South African market, is dedicated to client satisfaction and shares the Oracle vision of e-business. To realise this vision we need exemplary leadership and above all she is a natural leader."
