The shortlist for this year`s IT Personality of the Year Award has been opened to public voting.
The shortlisted nominees are:

* James Grcic, MD of Computer Storage Services
* Elmarie Jordaan, CEO of Enlist HR
* Viola Manuel, executive director of the Cape IT Initiative
* Angus MacRobert, CEO of Internet Solutions
* Dr Sebiletso Mokane-Matabane, CEO of Sentech
* Appie Pema, MD of Aptronics
* Hamilton Ratshefola, CEO of Cornastone Consulting
* Jacqui Subban, head of IT at eThekwini Municipality
* Rob Sussman, MD of Integr8 IT
The Computer Society of SA (CSSA), in association with ITWeb and Gartner Africa, presents the IT Personality of the Year accolade. The award recognises an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the growth and development of the South African IT industry over the past year.
The search for the industry`s most outstanding achiever began with an online call for nominations posted on ITWeb. Over 60 nominations were received from ITWeb readers and CSSA members, and judges have shortlisted 10 candidates.
Based on public votes, which will close on Friday, 6 October, and further insight into the candidates` achievements, five finalists will be selected, and will then be interviewed by the judges.
The winner will be announced at the CSSA President`s Banquet, to be held at the Sandton Sun and Towers Hotel on 25 October.
