Chinese ICT firm Huawei expects its enterprise unit to be a $10 billion business by 2019.

Huawei, whose business is divided into three groups ? carrier networks, consumer and enterprise ? notes the targets are still relatively shy, but states it is not trying to be too aggressive.

Huawei's enterprise business currently makes up 7% of its $43 billion revenue generated in 2014. "Huawei is new in the enterprise market and this means there are new opportunities to explore," said Yan Lida, president of Huawei's enterprise business group, speaking at the 2015 Huawei Cloud Congress, in Shanghai.

The Chinese firm believes it can achieve business growth in the enterprise market by forming strategic collaborations with established companies, such as Deutsche Telekom (DT).

Huawei has partnered with the German company, allowing DT to extend its public cloud offering to the Chinese market and Huawei to provide hardware for DT's cloud services. The partnership also aims to help Chinese businesses expand their operations into Europe.

According to Lida, traditional Chinese enterprises still see a gap in and information when compared with developed countries, which means they have high willingness to invest in the cloud.

Analysts predict the cloud market in China will experience a 30% annual growth through to 2018.

The Huawei enterprise is still a small business, which leaves big room for development, Lida noted.

"Today, Huawei is in a position to provide complete integrated ICT cloud structures as a solution," he said. "There are a lot of players. Even when we reach our target, we will still not be number one, so our target of $10 billion by 2019 is still not very aggressive."

Lida, however, believes it can be met and should be considered a preliminary target.
