24/7 support for Google apps
PCWorld reports.
This means that Apps for Business customers will be able to call Google for technical assistance whenever they run into trouble with suite applications like Gmail, Calendar, Sites, Docs, Talk and Video.
Speaking at the Google Atmosphere conference, Google Enterprise VP Amit Singh said the company was already outperforming its 99.9% uptime service level agreements for Google Apps, and last year hit 99.99% - or less than 43 minutes of downtime over the year, The Register notes.
Google had also surveyed its existing customer base and found over 90% satisfaction, and a similar renewal rate for business users, but the new support announcement would reassure more people about moving to the cloud. The 24/7 phone support will be open globally for all core issues with the applications.
At Atmosphere, Google also announced it has won several new clients for Google Apps, including Burberry, Goodyear, Guardian Life Insurance, and the Museum of Modern Art, in New York, among others, CNET writes.
Singh noted that "thousands" of businesses now switch from Microsoft to Google Apps every day. Google said more than four million businesses, and more than 40 million customers, use Google Apps.
