3Com Corporation today announced that its management structure has undergone changes to reflect its renewed focus on the enterprise networking market. The changes in management structure include:
* Dennis Connors, president of its recently divested CommWorks Corporation, has been named as 3Com`s executive vice-president of operations. Connors has been with the company for over three years and previously served as president of 3Com`s Connectivity division as well as its CommWorks subsidiary. Connors will remain president of CommWorks Corporation until the closing of the asset sale to UTStarcom, announced 4 March 2003.
* Mark Slaven, senior vice-president of finance and chief financial officer has been promoted to executive vice-president and chief financial officer. Slaven has been with 3Com for more than five years. Prior to becoming 3Com`s CFO, Slaven was vice-president of treasury, tax, trade and investor relations.
* 3Com will recruit an executive vice-president, sales. This person will be responsible for leading 3Com`s customer facing activities including the management of pathways to market including both indirect and direct selling. Until this position is filled, Bruce Claflin will serve as the interim executive vice-president of sales.
Another recent landmark denoting 3Com`s complete focus on the enterprise networking market is the company`s pending divestiture of its CommWorks subsidiary, which focused on servicing telecommunications service providers.
