3Com Corporation today announced it has extended its industry-leading mobile networking product family with the availability of two new PC cards for small office and home networks.
The new OfficeConnect 10/100 LAN+56K Global Modem CardBus PC Cards - one with Autosensing XJACK connector and one with integrated connectors - let users enjoy simple and high-performing network connections at an exceptional value. Also announced today, 3Com has aggressively priced its currently available OfficeConnect mobile solutions.

Designed with all the features needed by students, home users and small businesses for both LAN and dialup networking applications, 3Com`s OfficeConnect PC Cards give mobile workers simple and worry-free connectivity.
The OfficeConnect PC Cards with integrated connectors or Autosensing XJACK connector allow users to connect easily to the network without additional cables or dongles. With these Type III and XJACK PC Cards, users just plug in the network cable and are ready to go. Once connected, LAN connectivity automatically detects network capabilities, and operates at either 10Mbps or 100Mbps. The PC Cards with 56K Global Modem allow for fast, convenient, and simple dial-up networking anywhere in the world. During installation, the software automatically recognises the operating system`s language and will present the menu language accordingly.
As with all 3Com PC networking cards, the OfficeConnect products come with the comprehensive mobile feature set that has put 3Com above the competition: compatibility with all notebook PCs that comply with the PC Card standard, intelligent auto install, hot swapping, lifetime limited warranty, major network drivers, smart battery saver; flash DSP and ROM, status lights, and full-duplex operation. The LAN + Modem PC Cards also feature patented Exclusive Line Probing technology, Digital Line Guard and simultaneous LAN and modem operation.

Also effective today, 3Com has reduced pricing on three of its current OfficeConnect LAN PC Cards in order to meet the needs of its small business and home user customers. The 3Com OfficeConnect 10/100 LAN CardBus PC Card (3C3SH573BT) is now available for $81 US list price, the 3Com OfficeConnect 10/100 LAN (16-bit) PC Card (3CCSH572BT) is now available for $63 US list price, and the 3Com OfficeConnect 10/100 LAN PC Card with XJACK connector (3CXSH572BT) is now available for $68 US list price.
