Leading networking products vendor, 3Com South Africa, and specialist networking distribution company, Duxbury Networking, have concluded an agreement in terms of which Duxbury will distribute 3Com`s range of enterprise networking products through its dealer and reseller partner base in southern Africa.
According to 3Com SA MD, Chris van Niekerk, the appointment is expected to increase 3Com`s coverage of the enterprise networking market in SA at a time when this sector is poised for renewed growth.
"3Com SA will be working with Duxbury to establish new marketing and sales initiatives complemented by training programmes for technical and sales personnel in dealers and reseller organisations throughout the region," said Van Niekerk.
He said Duxbury`s strong position in the local market - which it has held for more than a decade - together with the organisation`s ability to supply total solutions, made the appointment a logical one.
"This is underscored by the fact that Duxbury has been distributing the Huawei range of products for some time and has considerable experience in this field.
"Moreover, the move in line with 3Com`s emphasis on this market sector and fully complements our channel strategy for SA," he added.
Graham Duxbury, MD of Duxbury Networking, welcomed the appointment, saying the move complements his company`s future sales and marketing plans.
"We are increasing our sales drive into the enterprise market and have made a number of recent announcements associated with our product and services portfolios," he said.
"3Com is one of the leading vendors in this market and we are delighted to bring the organisation on board as a supplier. We`re already working with 3Com`s product specialists on the design and development of new-generation networking solutions for key accounts."
Duxbury has plans to increase the flow of product- and technology-related information to his dealers, while offering a number of appropriate training opportunities to key technologists - as well as previously disadvantaged individuals - in his company`s reseller and VAR partner base.
He expects to increase his company`s share of the enterprise networking market significantly as a result of the appointment.
