US-based Synergy Research Group`s Worldwide Voice over IP (VoIP) report for the first three quarters of 1999 cites 3Com Corporation as the number one equipment vendor with 100 per cent marketshare in Desktop Packet Telephony in its VoIP Access & Infrastructure category. Synergy`s report also cites 3Com shipping 23,304 phones from its Desktop Packet Telephony Line category for the first three quarters of 1999, representing the total number of LAN phones shipped during that period.
"Synergy`s recent report flags 3Com`s victory in the LAN telephony market," said Ed Wadbrook, director of marketing, voice solutions group, network systems business unit, 3Com.
