3Com partners go for gold

Johannesburg, 04 Jul 2001

In today`s market, characterised by complex technology integration, companies are realising that partnerships between specialists are often able to deliver the best solutions to the customer.

"Partnerships and alliances are becoming standard features of the channel landscape, whether they are between integrator and integrator, integrator and vendor, or integrator and distributor," says Elaine Cox, 3Com`s Reseller Channel manager.

She says channel partners are as important to 3Com as its own internal sales force.

With this in mind, 3Com has designed a Partner Programme to recognise and accommodate the diverse demands of 3Com`s closest and most valued partners, the best of whom will gain "Gold Partner" status.

"The programme has the flexibility to enable businesses of all sizes to increase profit margins with maximum efficiency," she says.

Cox says the aim of the scheme is to give 3Com partners precisely the right levels of support, education and training, and to provide them with the most appropriate incentives and pricing structures for their individual requirements.

Cox reveals that 3Com partners are classified according to revenue commitment, as well as certain technical qualification achievements. "To make sure the most appropriate certification and partnership levels are awarded, qualification is assessed locally," says Cox.

"Partners are able to make use of a wide variety of benefits such as technical support, training, access to e-marketing, leads generation and 3Com certification."

Currently Choice Technologies and I-Fusion Holdings have achieved 3Com`s Gold Partner status in SA.
