Mobile application development company, 3fifteen has appointed Tarkan Diraz as the GM of its mobile division, replacing former GM for mobile, Richard Pierce-Jones.
"We are focusing on growing our mobile business in line with the rapid adoption of smartphones and tablets in the South African market," says Diraz.
Diraz has been at the Microsoft and mobile application development company since 2002 and will now be responsible for growing the company's mobile offering. According to 3fifteen, he has over a decade of knowledge in user experience, interface design, and custom development.
3fifteen Mobile delivers mobile solutions across the dominant smartphone and tablet platforms including Apple iOS, Blackberry, Android, and Windows, which Diraz believes is important as it allows them to cater to a diverse SA market.
"3fifteen also has skills in technologies available to all mobile GSM devices such as SMS and USSD, since we recognise that not every South African consumer has a smartphone as yet."
Acknowledging the exponential growth of the mobile device market, Diraz asserts that this is a key area of focus for 3fifteen. "Smartphone and tablet solutions are an important market for us, and we are focused squarely on creating simple, solid and beautiful solutions that generate value for our clients," he says.
"As a platform for content consumption, communication and commerce, the mobile phone offers a wealth of great opportunities for 3fifteen and our customers, both within privately-held enterprises and the public sector."
