SAOUG2013 Conference is on our doorstep - and the good news for those in Gauteng is that we don't have to travel!
Take the train or stay in Sandton - it is easy and convenient to connect, communicate and collaborate at our winter 2013 event.
What's more, we are spreading the event throughout the year - having our showcase conference in July, the women in IT event in October, and a wonderful golf day in November!
This year's exhibition offers more to our members, with a partner showcase, loads of tracks and convenient access for all levels of Oracle users.
Take advantage of the whole package or opt for multiple day passes.
The annual conference is the highlight on the South African Oracle User Group (SAOUG) events calendar and the place to be if you want to learn about the latest technology and trends, best practices from industry experts and network with your peers. The showcase event will be hosted at the Sandton Convention Centre, on 23 and 24 July 2013. In addition, the Women in IT Luncheon and the Annual Golf Day will be held later in the year. This is a change from previous years and many of our members are asking why.
Questions we are fielding are, among others:
Why the move of date; why three separate events; and why Sandton?
* The Oracle Open Day has been scheduled for 28 November 2013, and with Oracle being the main partner for SAOUG, a decision was taken to move the date to July so that both Oracle and SAOUG would have their time in the spotlight.
* With SAOUG being earlier this year, the idea to have the Women in IT event in October and the Golf Day in November means we have an opportunity to extend these invitations to a wider community of partners and customers. This will also allow SAOUG2013 to incorporate the Golf Day with Oracle Open Day.
* Finally, why Sandton Convention Centre? We really have listened to the delegates who have shown their support through the years. A change was needed from Sun City and there was definitely a feeling among our sponsors, exhibitors and delegates that Sun City was becoming expensive. With many of our delegates, sponsors and exhibitors being Gauteng-based, we felt it would provide a more affordable venue and we will most definitely be able to attract more day delegates and C-level customers.
Oracle partners, vendors and users will discover how their current IT investments can be enhanced to increase productivity, thereby creating more value for the organisation. Some of the new and exciting topics that will be discussed include the launch of Oracle Database 12c in EMEA, the latest development on applications, cloud computing and engineered systems.
This year we would like to encourage customers and users to share information by showcasing their success stories on how Oracle applications and technology benefit their organisations.
Another new and exciting added feature this year is the Showcase. Partners can use this platform to promote their company, products and services in a mini-theatre set-up in the exhibition hall. The slot will be promoted on the Web site, formal announcements made on-site, as well as via our Mobile App.

A special message from the SAOUG Board:
SAOUG brings together leaders and experts from all Oracle product users to discuss ideas and issues that are common to Oracle users inSouth Africa. This is a special community of people who volunteer time and energy to learn more about Oracle products and services and to maximise the return on their investments in Oracle. We encourage all Oracle customers and partners to get involved and become members of our SAOUG user group. Stay connected and network with other professionals using Oracle products. Share your ideas and best practices and reach out to mentor new users.
When it comes to the total quality of marketing interaction, nothing holds a candle to exhibitions. Exhibitions have a number of advantages over other media; therefore, don't miss out on booking your exhibition space at the 2013 conference, limited space available.
