8ta extends night surfing

8ta data users will now get an additional hour of discounted Internet surfing, from 11pm to midnight.

Telkom's mobile arm announced yesterday that its Midnight Surfer offering, usually between midnight and 5am, would now be known as Night Surfer, with discounted Internet rates between 11pm and 5am.

Senior managing executive at Telkom Mobile, Amith Maharaj, says, following analysis of 8ta's network load curves during the day, it was established that there was enough capacity at 11pm to cater for increased network utilisation “without compromising the user experience”.

Night Surfer is available as part of 8ta's promotional data bundles, including the 2GB+1GB and 60GB+60GB bundles, and the Internet 5 Promo's Midnight Surfer bundle option.
