A first for SA's oil and gas sector as APPSolve announces Cloud ERP deal

Johannesburg, 01 Jun 2016

Oracle Gold Partner APPSolve has announced a first of its kind deal in South Africa - the company has closed the first Oracle Cloud ERP deal for the Oil and Gas industry in the country.

APPSolve will work with Global Petroleum, a rapidly expanding company that specialises in establishing filling stations nationally in South Africa, to assist it with what will be a major cloud undertaking for the business.

APPSolve offers an in-depth knowledge of Oracle technologies and applications and custom software development. It has also built a reputation as an organisation that is capable of delivering projects, providing managed services and distributing licences across a broad suite of Oracle technology and applications.

From a cloud perspective, says APPSolve's Director of Business Development, Dr Kevin Lubbe, the company will bring a range of skills to bear on the Global Petroleum implementation. These will include project management, business process engineering, cloud functional and technical skills.

"During the course of the project, APPSolve will focus on the implementation of a number of modules, including Fusion Financials, Inventory, Purchasing and Self Service Purchasing," says Lubbe. He adds that once the project is complete, the solution will have been rolled out to a total of 39 Global Petroleum filling stations nationally.

Lubbe explains that the APPSolve implementation will replace Pastel and points out that one of the main reasons why Global Petroleum chose the company was because of its 'no mess, no fuss' approach and its impeccable reputation for delivering what it promises.

"The Cloud solution was chosen for its flexibility and scalability to meet their requirements as a particularly fast growing company. Furthermore, the reporting in Cloud will help them track their sales figures and profitability."

APPSolve is a certified Cloud partner, he continues, and the company has put together a highly specialised team of consultants to meet the aggressive deadlines set by the customer, in order to ensure that Global Petroleum achieves the anticipated benefits as soon as possible. Amongst those benefits, he states, are time savings, improved reporting and better analysis of financial information.

In closing, Arno Rautenbach, head of APPSolve's Professional Services team, adds that APPSolve closed the deal in a record-breaking five weeks from start to finish.

"A tremendous team effort went into this deal. Working closely with Oracle, our two highly professional and driven teams worked extremely hard to finalise things. Trust, teamwork and transparency is how true value is created and it is these qualities, shared by our organisations, that resulted in the quick closure of this deal," he concludes.
