A light to light the way

Johannesburg, 16 Apr 2003

Krone has equipped its brand-new range of disconnection modules for 2Mbps circuits with LED indicators to provide a uniquely user-friendly means of tracing jumper paths and displaying their status in large distribution frames.

Designed to provide high-density terminations for 2Mbps E 1 or T 1 circuits using shielded twisted-pair cable, the new fully modular product makes an important extension to Krone`s established industry-standard LSA-PLUS product range.

The added advantage of a visible signalling unit to indicate jumper paths means that cross-connects involving E 1 or T 1 circuits can now be reconfigured and identified rapidly and easily by observing LED indications, with no manual jumper tracing at all.

"The use benefits of this ingenious product shine out coherently," declared Mike Williams, Market Development Manager - Public Networks with Krone UK. Insertion of a special test plug into any of the central test ports on the module causes an LED indicator to light at both ends of the corresponding jumper path. The clear LED lights built into circuit identification strips give an unambiguous indication of channel status on distribution frames in telephone exchanges, collocation domains and wireless network base stations. For any distribution system requiring clear circuit identification the new Tracer Lamp System is truly invaluable, ensuring faster fault-finding when problems make rapid response crucial."

Each disconnection module caters for four circuits of Tx/Rx (Transmit and Receive) and uses the shield wire in each circuit to power the LED.
