Abacus Telecomm enters converged telecommunications

Johannesburg, 26 Oct 2010

Cape Town - Abacus Telecomm has made the move from just offering cost reducing solutions to the marketplace to now offering fully-fledged converged telephone systems.

“We realise that the telecommunication market is changing at a rapid pace,” says Dominic Sardinha, owner of Abacus Telecomm, “and in order to maintain a firm foothold in the market, we too must move with the pace. We have now moved out of the traditional least cost routing, or LCR, space to offering holistic telecommunication solutions to our customers.

“We feel that this will enable us to provide a far more superior service level to our clients in so much as we are now able to cater for all of their voice, data and IT requirements. So now, should our clients experience any faults or issues with any aspect of their communication or IT network, it is simply a matter of contacting one service provider to address their requirements. This will also eliminate the 'blame game' our clients have become used to over the past few years.

“In the past, telco companies would blame the PABX vendors; PABX vendors would blame the LCR dealers; and so on. Now this is all eliminated as only one service provider is responsible for all the clients' needs.”

Apart from IT and data infrastructure, Abacus Telecomm now provides a hybrid IP PABX system. “Definitely the last PABX system a client will need to purchase,” Sardinha continues, “with all the normal functionality of a legacy-based PABX, our new IP-based PABX offers even more versatility such as remote office or extension, integrated voice logging, full IVR and auto attendants. Not only does this system enhance our client's image in the marketplace, but allows them to efficiently and effectively take control of their telecommunication infrastructure.

“In addition to all this, the old adage of one branch, one PABX is now also a thing of the past. Now companies only need one telephone system, normally at their head office, with the various branches connecting remotely to the centralised PABX,” says Sardinha.

“The fact is that the system actually has far too many features and benefits to cover them all in one press release,” Sardinha continues. “The best would be for prospective clients to view the offering by clicking here and then going through the various benefits and features.”
