As part of its Africa , technology services and outsourcing company Accenture has appointed Bashi Gaetsaloe to head up a new office in Gaborone, Botswana.

Head of Accenture`s initiatives in Africa, Wayne Furphy, says Botswana`s stable economy, large resource base and stable democracy, as well as its proximity to Accenture`s major presence in SA, makes it an ideal candidate country for Accenture to enter.

Furphy adds that Gaetsaloe`s experience and qualifications make him a suitable candidate to lead Accenture`s efforts in Botswana.

Gaetsaloe has an MA in Economics from Yale University and a BA in Economics from Connecticut College, both in the US. He is a member of the Institute of Management Consultants of SA and was previously CEO of KPMG Consulting in Botswana.

Gaetsaloe will be responsible for establishing and growing Accenture Botswana. This covers client relationships management, sales and delivery of quality consulting, technology and outsourcing.

"I am excited about the challenge. Our country has seen a slowdown in growth and companies are looking for ways which they can reduce costs, increase efficiency and grow profitability," says Gaetsaloe.

"Accenture has an impeccable reputation in all these areas, and we look forward to partnering with the government and business, to turn Botswana into a high performance economy."

"With Gaetsaloe on board, we hope to build a significant presence in Botswana, targeting telecommunications, financial services and the government," says Furphy.
