Accenture releases SOA platform

Accenture is addressing the issue of frequent changes to social programme rules and eligibility of public service IT departments, reports SearchSOA.

The company uses open source and commercial enterprise architecture products focusing on easing the issues in public service IT departments. The current offerings include WebLogic portal and application server, AquaLogic Integrator and Business Process Management, Oracle Fusion services, Oracle security, and Spring framework.

"A lot of government organisations are working on major modernisation efforts because they're being supported by systems that are decades old," says David McCurley, global managing director of Accenture's human services division. "We are seeing an increasing demand for services and SOA."

US coast guard deploys EA

The US Coast Guard (USCG) has deployed Fiorano Software's solutions enterprise-wide to power its long-range identification and tracking system for Homeland Security, says Benzinga.

"For the US Coast Guard, adopting enterprise-wide SOA as part of our enterprise architecture framework was a necessity to deliver mission-critical, real-time information from our vast diversity of application and sources,” says Steve Munson, chief of enterprise engineering services at USCG.

“Following a rigorous 18-month evaluation involving more than a dozen alternatives, Fiorano's SOA platform was selected to implement the Coast Guard's SOA solutions.”

Sendmail reviews 250 messaging architectures

Sendmail has reportedly completed more than 250 messaging architecture reviews with global 1 000 companies, says Unified-Communications.

The reviews were conducted on the companies that were interested in finding vulnerabilities and discovering infrastructure cost savings by modernising their e-mail messaging infrastructures.

The Sendmail Messaging Architecture Review Programme evaluates a company's existing messaging infrastructure. The reviews are conducted with interviews with all department stakeholders that rely upon e-mail for mission-critical communications.
