The flood of devices drowning the enterprise, coupled with the increasing frequency and sophistication of attacks, has driven a slew of threat detection and mitigation technologies across networks and endpoints, says AccessData.
It adds that companies today have to deal with myriad niche point solutions that cannot give a complete picture on incidents of all types.
Also, organisations are relying on mobile device management (MDM) and mobile application management solutions that give them a false sense of security, as they do not provide incident detection, response or remediation, the company adds.
AccessData has introduced the ResolutionOne platform, which it says bridges the gap between MDM and threat detection solutions. It combines network, endpoint and malware analysis, threat intelligence, end-to-end e-discovery and remediation technologies into one platform.
Francois Els, general manager of African Risk Mitigation, the local distributor for AccessData, says the platform also provides visibility, by actively recording and collecting data from these devices. Moreover, correlates data against the vendor's threat intelligence engine to detect known threats, he adds.
"Tools that merely detect and remove threats are woefully inadequate weapons in the fight against cyber crime, and as such, the platform also introduces analytics and forensics capabilities that identify anomalous behaviour when looking at an enterprise's mobile devices' data as a whole," says Els.
It can pinpoint what has occurred at any one point in time, in detail, creating a timeline of events to reconstruct an incident, he adds.
The solution works on iOS and Android devices, whether attached to or separate from corporate networks.
