Accolades for ICT entrepreneurs

Ten winners were named in the Enablis Business Report ICT Entrepreneur challenge, at an event in Rivonia yesterday.

The contest, which made its debut this year, offered prizes of business financing and was open to entrepreneurs across the country.

Enablis Global CEO and chairman Charles Sirois says a thousand entries were submitted for the two categories in the competition: business idea and business expansion. These were narrowed down to 11 finalists in each category.

Five winners were chosen in the business expansion category, which is for entrepreneurs who are running a business, but want to expand their enterprises or take it to the next stage of growth.

The winners from this category are offered a total of R5 million in financing by way of loan guarantees. They also received business prizes, including computers, printers and .

The five winners in the business idea category are entrepreneurs who have a business idea and aim to start up a new business.

The winners in this category each walked away with R50 000 worth of hardware and software prizes.

Sirois says business entrepreneurs are the main drivers behind the small and medium enterprise market and Enablis wants to ensure entrepreneurs explore 100% of their capabilities.

"Today the Enablis project allows us to source and intensify future entrepreneurs, making sure our entrepreneurs go to the next stage, by developing new projects," he says.

Winners in the business expansion category are:

* Bruce Morgan, owner of GreatSoft
* Nalen Padiachy of PNS Private Systems
* Milton Kunaka of JTech SA
* Fairoz Jaffer of Abnoba

Winners in the business idea category are:

* Rosalyn Charlton, owner of Elzaris Technologies
* Brian Segal of Audio Smart Guide
* Craig Wing of Focul Point Engineering
* Lesley Lambie of Fiziosoft
* Henk Kleynhans of SkypeRove
