Accounting Innovations, a Synergy Holdings company, has become the latest South African systems integrator to adopt ProfitAbility, the customer order fulfilment system from JSE-listed Ixchange. ProfitAbility forms part of Ixchange`s Ability suite of business management solutions.
Patrick Toolan, Synergy`s CEO and MD, says ProfitAbility will make a good match to the company`s two other accounting product lines, AccPac and Great Plains. "ProfitAbility stands out from its competition in that it was developed locally, specifically with SA requirements in mind. It is also an open system, enabling software development companies, like Synergy, to write add-ons and integration programmes. The product`s major strength lies in the effectiveness of its distribution modules, and Ixchange has a reputation of delivering on its promises to the market."
Synergy consists of three divisions that focus on the mid-market, namely consulting, software development and Web/e-commerce. ProfitAbility will complement the business in all three areas, adding another arrow to the Synergy quiver. The product`s focus on the mid-market distribution scenario is a strength that Synergy will capitalise on. "ProfitAbility is an undoubted leader in its distribution functionality," Toolan adds.
A Synergy group company, AppSoft, will be developing add-on software for ProfitAbility, to enhance its value to customers both locally and internationally. The two projects in the pipeline are the integration of ProfitAbility with GoldMine, and a project costing application. Toolan comments that Ixchange and ProfitAbility are very open to third party input, and this is encouraging for development companies that are able to add value to these products.
Toolan adds that ProfitAbility`s e-commerce offering is very strong and it extends, with ease, the normal distribution abilities of organisations to the Web.
