ACCPAC Africa has secured the local rights to an Australian-developed add-on product for its ACCPAC Advantage Series business accounting solutions - one that links various aspects of the service and job costing processes.
Jeremy Waterman, MD of ACCPAC Africa, says Technisoft Service Manager centralises all information pertaining to maintenance projects and jobs, including quotations, invoices and credit notes, thereby enabling the cost-effective management of these tasks.
"It keeps service records for every single piece of equipment, from air conditioners to copiers to PCs, in use within a company and, via scheduling functionality, generates reminders when maintenance is due on a piece of equipment," he adds.
Service Manager is tightly integrated with all ACCPAC Advantage Series products and supports a variety of databases, including Pervasive.SQL, Microsoft SQL, IBM DB2, Oracle. The product is available locally from many qualified ACCPAC resellers, some of whom have chosen to specifically target the services industry with it.
Waterman believes Service Manager adds specific value for service providers and for large organisations with internal maintenance departments. "It also provides a fully up-to-date asset register which is accessible from with the ACCPAC Advantage Series product itself," he notes.
Technisoft Service Manager handles, among others, the key aspects of:
* Job planning and querying;
* Employee and equipment scheduling/dispatch;
* Employee time sheets;
* Standard and recurring maintenance jobs;
* Agreement contracts and auto-escalations;
* Warranties;
* Site, model and equipment history;
* Equipment components;
* Follow-ups and escalations; and
* Purchase orders and requisitions.
"There are also a wide range of general and industry-specific add-on products that can further improve management of the asset register," says Waterman.
