ACCPAC announces fully Web-based accounting system

Johannesburg, 04 Sep 2002

ACCPAC Africa has announced the release of the full suite of modules of ACCPAC Advantage Series version 5.0, providing mid-market companies with the first 100% Web-based accounting solution.

"ACCPAC Advantage Series 5.0 'walks the walk' of true integration and anytime, anywhere access that mid-market customers want and need to remain competitive," said Jeremy Waterman, managing director, ACCPAC Africa. "Businesses are asking for unlimited access to their data, interoperability with front office functions and a convincing ROI (Return On Investment) - ACCPAC fulfils these needs with Advantage Series 5.0."

ACCPAC Advantage Series 5.0 includes seven modules: System Manager, General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Order Entry, Inventory Control, and Purchase Orders. The advanced architecture allows for deployment over the Web, so users always have access to critical information. Moreover, Advantage Series 5.0 serves as a foundation for ACCPAC's line of end-to-end business management applications, including eCRM, human resource management, e-commerce, warehouse management and more.

Advantage Series' product architecture provides for access to the accounting system via an Internet browser and Web-enabled devices such as mobile phones and PDAs. In addition, it allows for a variety of options designed to provide businesses the benefits of open platform choice, rapid deployment and low up-front costs.

Users can choose Microsoft Windows NT or Linux operating systems and select from a variety of databases, including Microsoft SQL, IBM DB2, Oracle, or Pervasive.SQL. In addition, Advantage Series is available as a hosted solution, at ACCPAC Online, or may be deployed on premises in an intranet-style environment.

"The Web-based architecture of ACCPAC Advantage Series clearly extends access to critical data," says Waterman. "Businesses today have customers, suppliers and employees who are geographically dispersed, so they are asking for solutions that solve the problems of distance, time and complexity. The new ACCPAC products support the needs of these growing enterprises."
