ACCPAC Plus users get Window of opportunity

Johannesburg, 12 Mar 2002

The end of this month sees the conclusion of the two-month promotion ACCPAC Africa has been running for companies using ACCPAC Plus to upgrade to the ACCPAC Advantage Series 5.0 at an extremely low cost.

According to Jeremy Waterman, MD of ACCPAC Africa, the "Back to the Future Upgrade" promotion enables users of the DOS-based business accounting product, ACCPAC Plus, to move to a Windows environment simply, and in a cost-effective manner.

"ACCPAC Plus users wishing to take advantage of this offer will only pay for the new Systems Manager and LanPaks. They will get all their existing core modules, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Inventory Control, Order Entry and Purchase Orders for free," he says.

"In addition, they can purchase an unlimited number of additional user licences at upgrade prices rather than the full list price, regardless on the number of currently registered users.

"ACCPAC Plus customers have been extremely loyal to our product and we believe it has served them faithfully. It is, however, becoming more difficult for us to continue to support the DOS platform with the preponderance of Windows PCs in the market," continues Waterman.

"More importantly, it is impossible for ACCPAC Plus users to take advantage of the high levels of integration that the Windows platform offers. Since we certainly do not want to lose any of our ACCPAC Plus clients, we have chosen to protect the investment they have made in our technology and shield them against the ravages of the rand devaluation over the last decade, with this special 'Back to the Future' upgrade offer," he adds.

Waterman further points out that it is the smaller users who stand to benefit most from the offer. "We see it as an opportunity to keep customers who may otherwise be tempted to compromise their businesses by moving to less powerful business accounting products," he says.

The 'Back to the Future' promotion effectively results in a substantial saving while affording customers the opportunity to move to newer Microsoft platforms, running ACCPAC clients on Windows desktops or from within a standard Web browser.

ACCPAC Advantage Series 5.0 offers powerful analysis and reporting tools enabling more strategic decision-making at a management level. It offers superior operations management capabilities through the Purchase Order, Order Entry and Inventory Control modules, which include built-in warehouse management automation functionality.

Finally, and according to Waterman, the most attractive feature of Advantage Series 5.0 is that it provides, through a series of add-on modules, complete integration of human resource management, customer relationship management and Web-store functions into the backend accounting system, where and when it is needed.

The offer ends on 31 March 2002. ACCPAC Plus users should contact their dealers or ACCPAC Africa as soon as possible if they're interested in taking it up.
