ACCPAC releases ePOS to SA retailers

Johannesburg, 04 Jun 2003

ACCPAC has announced ePOS, a comprehensive point-of-sale (POS) solution for fast-paced, high-volume, multi-site retail operations.

"Whether you need to manage a single retail location, or face the challenge of tying together dozens of stores with multiple POS registers at each location, ACCPAC ePOS offers you full integration with your ACCPAC Advantage Series solution," says Jeremy Waterman, MD, ACCPAC.

With ePOS, and its integration with all retail technologies (including barcode scanners, real-time credit card processing, weigh scales, pole displays and more), users can further increase their check-out speed and accuracy while providing real-time integration and reporting across the enterprise.

Waterman says ePOS deploys via the Internet and offers retailers an easy-to-administer POS solution that scales to meet even the most complex demands of retail chains. It provides a complete view of the enterprise inventory, customer activities and store management.

"Staff will quickly find this browser-based solution easy to work with and feature-rich," he adds. "Combined with support for all retail technologies, ePOS works the way your staff does.

"Customers have flexible deployment options within a browser-based application," he adds. "ePOS enables businesses to respond quickly and easily as POS needs change. Furthermore, seasonal demands and peak check-out times are made easier to handle by dynamically adjusting the number of POS workstations deployed at store level."

Web-engineered with the latest Internet technologies, ePOS combines the flexibility of the World Wide Web, the complete information security of iConnect and the reliability of ACCPAC accounting support.

"ePOS is a software solution designed to be fast and secure and to work reliably with the Internet and is accessed via a browser," says Waterman. "The company need only install one copy of ePOS and all retail sites anywhere in the world may access it, limited only by the number of iConnect users you have registered."

Unlike other POS systems that reconcile at the end of the day or manually at the end of the week, ePOS allows users access to every store's inventory and purchases online and as they happen. "Customers no longer have to wait until the following day for an accurate inventory count; it is always available and up to date," he concludes.
