Accrue Software represented in SA by Global Technology

Johannesburg, 09 Mar 2001

US-based Accrue Software Inc, a supplier of Web site analysis software to many of the world`s largest Web portals, signed a distributorship deal with Global Business Technology Intelligence (GBI) in South Africa at the end of January.

"We have identified the South African market as a prime candidate for the Accrue product," says Cologne, Germany-based Joachim Haas, Accrue`s director channels, EMEA. Accrue was founded in California in 1996 and is listed on the NASDAQ.

"Market conditions here are unique, and in GBI we have a partner who understands local conditions and who can provide local support," Haas says. GBI provides services and solutions to the community.

With clients such as computer retailer Gateway, IBM, the Los Angeles Times, Kodak, Apple, MTV Europe, US department stores Macys and Bloomindales, and Germany`s Bertelsmann group, DTelefunk and Omnitel, Accrue is one of the world`s most popular web analysis and database integrator products.

"Accrue is not just a clickstream recording product," Haas says. "Accrue captures all Web traffic , whether it is static HTML, dynamic content, or (SSL) transactions. It provides real business analytics, true business intelligence in its finest form."

Combining web analysis data with a company`s existing data warehouse information makes Accrue unique. "It produces an unified view of each customer based on both Web site traffic and legacy data, all in real time," says Haas.

"The product`s open software platform means that Accrue can be integrated into all major B2B business intelligence systems, with user rates varying from a few to millions per day," he adds. The short two-day implementation cycle also makes the solution attractive.

"In this country we have an established infrastructure which can utilise the Accrue applications," says Johan Cloete, CEO of GBI. "Our existing client base of banks, insurance companies, mining houses and other large corporations which already run BI applications, will find Accrue an ideal complement to their B2B and B2C operations."

"Our clients stand to benefit from the enhanced data they will gather from their e-channel, which will allow them to stay one step ahead of the market," Cloete says. "It is confirmation of GBI`s market status both locally and internationally that yet another world brand has chosen our company to front their product in South Africa," Cloete concludes.
