The local office of networking specialist, Accton Technology Corporation, has appointed Siltek Distribution Dynamics (SDD), as a distributor for the networking vendors range of products.
"The South African Accton market is currently covered by Mustek, an OEM partner," says Greg Perkins, Accton country manager. "However, in order to expand our coverage of the market it became necessary for us to appoint another broad-band distributor."
Paul Luff, product manager for Accton at SDD says the distributors main focus will be Accton`s hub and switch products with adaptors being secondary.
"SDD were in the market for a low-cost networking range to enhance their existing portfolio and we believe that with their technical skills and existing infrastructure both companies will benefit," says Perkins.
Looking to the future Luff says the inclusion of the range will open the door for additional sales of the network solution provider`s products on a nationwide basis.
"I believe the addition of a second large distributor will bring stability to the availability of the Accton range in both stockholding and pricing. In the long run this will add up to benefits for the end-user," concludes Perkins.
