Acer has once again raised the stakes in the local channel with the launch of the Premier Executive Partner Programme.
Since the company`s re-invention of its business strategy as a tier-one vendor three years ago, there has been significant movement in the company`s market share, especially in the EMEA region.
"Channel players have become aware that Acer is serious about innovation and ensuring huge dividends for its partners," says Gary De Menezes, channel director at Acer.
Further differentiating the company`s successful Acer Connect channel initiative, Premium Executive status is exclusively for partners who commit to Acer as premium partners and work together on large service contracts and corporate tenders that are integral to the success of Acer`s corporate strategy.
"Our partners are crucial to our business goals. With this new programme, we will work closely and co-operatively with them to help craft new opportunities, increase exposure, generate interest and increase market penetration and share," says De Menezes.
"Our aim is to ensure that, in effect, Acer Connect Partners become an extension of the Acer business - with similar levels of training and similar levels of commitment to Acer."
With nationwide representation, Acer Premium partners will be expected to demonstrate market leadership in delivering business solutions on a large scale.
"This partnership is for Acer partners that are serious about their future with the company and, therefore, partners are expected to employ dedicated in-house technical and sales expertise across all product lines, and designate a dedicated account manager within their organisation," says De Menezes.
Partners will be equipped to service strategic Acer customers, with a minimum of two certified ATPS (technical) and two certified ASE (sales) resources allocated per region for end-user sales and technical support.
This year, Acer will continue to expand its product range in South Africa, launching new products such as aluminium LCD monitors, carbon and silver desktops, and home entertainment PC systems. Acer will also be introducing innovative market strategies across all products, from servers, to notebooks, storage and handhelds, ensuring its channel partners stay ahead of other tier-one brands in the local market.
