Acer appoints Advocate Solutions

Johannesburg, 08 Sep 2004

Multinational PC brand, Acer, has appointed Advocate Solutions, an IT service and maintenance organisation, as preferred third-party (TPM) maintainer for its customers.

Advocate Solutions offers Acer customers onsite warranty repairs for desktops and servers. The company has a national footprint with service centres in all major cities, including Gauteng, Durban, Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, Bloemfontein and Nelspruit, as well as smaller points of presence in more remote regions.

Frank Beckett, MD of Advocate Solutions, says: "Advocate Solutions responds to warranty call-outs within the specific times laid out in Acer`s warranty policies and provides maintenance, upgrades and roll-outs for Acer when required.

"We also provide extended services for clients who want to enhance their warranty agreement by requesting loan units and improved response times," says Beckett.

The company has a centralised help-desk with SMS and Web capabilities in place to continuously monitor service levels and statistics.

David Drummond, MD of Acer, says: "The agreement is in line with Acer`s strategy to align itself with a credible national service provider.

"Advocate Solutions is certified with leading accreditation institutions, including CompTIA and Microsoft, and believes in continually training its service personnel to provide excellent service to our customers.

"At Acer we continually strive to improve our service to our customers and signing Advocate Solutions as a partner furthers Acer`s aim to provide affordable and quality service, as well as significant benefits to our customers."
