Acer releases 'everyday' screens

Johannesburg, 14 Jan 2010

Acer SA has introduced the B-series of LCD monitors which it says are designed for office professionals and others who spend much of their day in front of a computer screen.

“With pivot and height adjustment, a full range of connectivity options, and high picture quality, these LCD screens are true high-definition performers for today's enterprise user.”

The hardware manufacturer says its ACM provides the screens with a dramatic improvement of gradation and detail, especially for dimmer and brighter scenes. ACM also reduces the power consumption of the LCD monitor.

According to Acer's technical specifications, the 23-inch B233H offers a grey-to-grey response time of about 5ms and a screen resolution of 1920x1080 at 60Hz, while the 24-inch B243H offers a response time of 2ms and a screen resolution of 1920x1080 at 60Hz.

Both models offer a 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio and a high contrast ratio of 80 000:1.

The B-series displays provide a flexible selection of connectivity options, with VGA, DVI with HDCP, HDMI and USB ports.
