ACET Processing selects T-Systems for mainframe services

Johannesburg, 26 Feb 2003

ACET Processing, the specialist third-party processor of accounts, customers, events and transactions, has contracted with T-Systems to outsource the mainframe functions associated with running the company`s state of the art credit systems software.

The deal will allow T-Systems to supply ACET with the necessary mainframe capacity needed to sign on new clients, enabling ACET to focus on its core competency - managing credit systems, including VisionPLUS 8.11 from PaySys International and TRIAD 7.0, from Fair, Isaac International.

Mike Crawley, Director of Software Services at ACET Processing, states: "ACET Processing is a specialist third-party processing company and so it was decided to outsource the management of the mainframe to T-Systems, a specialist in information, technology and telecommunication facilities outsourcing. T-Systems has an excellent reputation for service quality and consistency, with significant experience in running credit systems on mainframe computers. ACET will focus on running the credit systems software, while T-Systems focuses on running the mainframe on which the credit systems reside. The benefit to the clients is that this specialisation will ensure superior levels of service."

"This deal is a first for SA in the area of risk management as ACET is the first independent third-party processing company in SA for retailers, personal loans and financial services organisations," explains Jack Matthews, Regional Sales Representative at T-Systems SA.

Crawley adds: "The combination of TRIAD and VisionPLUS offers clients in Africa unrivalled access to world-class credit management technology and TRIAD and VisionPLUS are a long-established winning combination. ACET Processing clients in Africa will benefit from this outsourcing arrangement with T-Systems and this significant investment in credit risk management technology, both of which will result in clients being empowered to make strategic credit management decisions on a one-to-one customer basis.
