Acision has appointed David Huguet as senior VP and GM for the Middle East, Africa and Pakistan (MEAP) regions.

According to the mobile communications infrastructure company, Huguet brings more than 15 years' of management and sales experience in telecommunications and IT, and will report directly to Acision's CEO.

"Prior to Acision, Huguet served as VP of solutions for Middle East and Africa at Oasis Smart, a company he co-founded. During his time at Oasis Smart, David was responsible for all aspects of sales for the company. Huguet achieved growth for the company and was responsible for establishing a network of strategic and value-added partnerships that resulted in the delivery of end-to-end mobile solutions to customers and partners through a unique combination of global technology and local expertise," says the organisation.

According to Acision, Huguet also held senior management positions at Saudi Telecom Company subsidiary Intigral, an end-to-end solution provider focused on delivering media content services to regional telecommunications operators. The company grew to be the largest mobile digital content aggregator in the Middle East, with Huguet managing all sales and business development, working with strategic partners and telecoms operators.

"David has unique and wide-ranging experience within the telecommunications industry. This, coupled with his extensive relationships in the Middle East, deep knowledge of the global telecoms value chain and strong leadership to advance the company's regional growth ambitions, made him the logical choice for Acision," says CEO Adolfo Hernandez.

Huguet looks forward to accelerating Acision's significant local growth and enhancing the company's relationships with its customers. "Moreover, I feel strongly that we have an opportunity to continue to drive and extend Acision's leadership in the region, helping existing and future Acision customers and partners seize the tremendous possibilities that lie ahead in the mobile messaging and services marketplace," Huguet notes.
