Acme Packet unveils Net-Net 3820
Acme Packet, the Session Border Control (SBC) category creator, has introduced the newest member of its product family, the Net-Net 3820, aimed at both small to medium-sized IP communications service providers, and mission-critical enterprise and contact centre applications, writes Unified Communications Strategies.
Building from the first Net-Net 3800 platform, the Net-Net 3820 adds NEBS compliance as well as support for single or dual hot-swappable AC or DC power supplies, explains the company.
Acme Packet claims it also increases capacity from 4 000 to 8 000 sessions, and supports multiple product configurations compared to the Net-Net 3810, which supports only the Net-Net Session Director, Acme Packet's integrated SBC.
Goober 3.0 released as public beta
Goober Networks, a unified communications provider, has declared Goober 3.0 as a public beta, states TMCnet.
The Goober 3.0 is a collaboration solution which features high-definition (HD) voice to landlines and cellphones, multi-protocol instant messaging, and six-way video conferencing calls to PCs including Windows and Macintosh, explains the company.
Goober Networks claims it provides global HD VOIP calling and saves users up to 90% on phone calls. A $500 free voucher will be given to the first 5 000 people to download the Goober 3.0 beta.
Lithium acquires Scout Labs
Lithium Technologies, a provider of social CRM solutions, has acquired Scout Labs, a rapidly growing social media monitoring company, reports SiliconIndia.
The acquisition enables companies to listen, absorb, and act on their customers' conversations across the Web, explains the company.
Though Scout Labs, social media monitoring and analytics would be fully incorporated into the Lithium platform, Scout Labs' solution will continue as a standalone product.
