Acrobat 3D now available
Desktop software extending document-based 3D design collaboration capabilities across global organisations is now available from Adobe.
Acrobat 3D can convert 3D models from a wide variety of major CAD formats and embed them into Adobe PDF files, regardless of whether the user has the native CAD application, writes The Gilbane Report.
The software is most suited to management systems in the fields of design engineering, technical publishing and for creative professionals in the aerospace, industrial machinery and architecture, engineering and construction market, adds the article.
SDL`s new global info management apps
SDL International has released its latest enterprise global information management (GIM) applications, SDL Translation Management System 2006 and SDL TeamWorks 2006, reports CRMToday.
SDL, a provider of GIM solutions, says the open platform capabilities and customer-driven innovations of the new applications offer customers even greater flexibility to orchestrate their global content supply chains.
"SDL products are in use across the entire global content supply chain, exceeding 100 000 desktop users and millions of Web users worldwide," adds the report.
WordPress CMS update
Open source content management system WordPress has received a significant update, reports ITWorld.
"WordPress 2.0 adds many features that make it a more powerful content management system, especially for companies that want to maintain sites with multiple levels of users," says the article.
