Phoenix Software UK, the leading republisher and distributor for Acronis, is proud to announce that Acronis True Image 9 has been nominated for Best Software of the Year by PC Pro, one of the UK's leading computer titles.
This is one of the most sought-after press awards and competition for nomination is fiercely contested. Other products nominated are Apple Boot Camp, Apple iTunes, Adobe Photoshop elements, Avid Liquid, Google Picassa, MS Internet Explorer, Microsoft Messenger, Windows Media Player and Mozilla Firefox.
Nominations are decided by a well-respected panel of technical journalists and review editors after an overview of all the releases from the last 12-month period. To be included as a nomination is recognition that the Acronis title is one of the top software releases in the UK over the last 12-month cycle.
"We feel we are in good company with this award and feel that the work over the last 18 months has been well rewarded. We pushed hard to raise the profile of the brand and specifically the True Image title. Amazon.co.uk has been our major success story, with sales exceeding the 30K units over the last 12 months. Dabs.com and eBuyer.co.uk have also been integral in cementing the brand as a mainstream contender in the minds of UK consumers. Online retail is the dominant vehicle for software sales in the UK and we have leveraged their know-how and captive user-bases to grow our businesses by 300% over the last 12 months in the UK," says CEO Simon Campbell-Young.
Acronis True Image is the easiest and the most convenient and intuitive disk imaging, backup and system restore software you've ever seen. It is a complete file and system disk imaging backup and restore software for home and home office users that can protect your entire system and family pictures, videos, music, and important documents stored on your home PC.
PC Pro in its initial review of True Image 10 stated: "Offering file backup, system restore and some unique features like the Secure Zone, there's no better-value package for backing up a single PC."
Simon Campbell Young, CEO of Phoenix Software, commented: "We have been an exclusive channel partner for Acronis for the last 12 months in the UK. During this time we have seen unprecedented growth in the popularity of the Acronis product range. The titles have received many awards from UK and SA press - PC Plus, Computer Buyer, ZDNet and PC Answers among the key ones. The nomination for the PC Pro award is an outstanding achievement."
From a South African perspective, the current version Acronis True Image 10 will be released exclusively via Incredible Connection over the Christmas period at R499 VAT inclusive.
