Acronis releases new products
Acronis has released a new backup and recovery software specifically designed for databases, including SQL Server, Oracle and MS Exchange, reports CIO.
Initial shipments of Acronis Recovery for MS SQL Server will be in the US, with Europe and Asia/Pacific Rim releases later this quarter.
Acronis Recovery allows IT managers and database administrators to back-up and recover databases back to the point of failure, including tables, logs and all other components.
Stargate standardises on Acronis
Stargate Digital has standardised on disk imaging backup and recovery software from Acronis, as part of a complete disaster recovery plan, says EarthTimes.
Stargate Digital can capture a hardware image and, using the Acronis Universal Restore feature, restore it to dissimilar hardware.
The company's IT staff now has an up-to-date "snapshot" of its systems at the ready for reliable recovery should catastrophe strike while its crews are shooting
VaultStor enters market
Ingram Micro will distribute VaultStor's line of onsite disaster recovery vaults (DRV), reports eChannelLine.
The vaults are designed to eliminate the risk of data loss due to fire and flood and therefore permit critical business data to remain onsite and secure.
"We have a roadmap. This is a not a one-trick pony. We have an entire product line going up and down from where we are," explained Tom Hanan, VaultStor's president and founder.
