Synapsys, the sole authorised Acronis distributor for SA and sub-Saharan Africa, has announced the immediate local availability of the latest version of Acronis vmProtect.
With added support for Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Active Directory, Acronis vmProtect remains the only solution capable of recovering data at different levels: hypervisor, virtual machine (VM) and application. Granular recovery of MS Exchange items is already part of the product, carried forward from the previous version.
Acronis vmProtect's time-proven and award-winning solution combines dozens of advanced technologies packaged in an easy-to-use product that installs in less than three minutes. vmProtect's accessible Web user interface is optimised for smaller vSphere environments with a dozen VMs and is equipped to support hundreds of VMs.

Acronis vmProtect 9 features:
* Recognises file systems, skips unnecessary files and incrementally restores virtual machines at top speeds with vmFlashBack, an Acronis exclusive;
* Runs virtual machines straight from a compressed and de-duplicated image;
* Incorporates multi-destination backup, which automatically copies backups to an additional location, locally or to the cloud;
* Includes self-backup with the ability to save and restore its configurations; and
* Integrates fully with VMware vCenter, thus backup, recovery and replication operations can be managed directly from VMware vCenter.
