Actnet acclaims Document Sciences for being named insurance leader for third consecutive year

Johannesburg, 24 Jul 2006

Document Sciences Corporation, a proven global leader in providing customer communications management solutions, has been named a category leader by Celent, LLC for the third straight year in the firm`s "Insurance Software Deal Trends" report, based on software deals that occurred in 2004 and 2005.

Celent`s independent, industry-leading report is based on a sample of 1 158 software deals in insurance signed by 68 vendors. Based upon its deal volume, Document Sciences was cited in the life/health edition as the top vendor in the document management category, which includes the production of policies/certificates and correspondence. Document Sciences was also cited as one of the leading vendors in the property/casualty edition.

The report notes that document management is currently an important area for technology investments. "The insurance industry is generating a lot of activity in the document management arena," says Craig Weber, senior analyst for Celent and author of the report. "Carriers of all sizes are actively looking for improved solutions that help them manage their documents better."

"We`re very pleased to again be recognised as the top document management vendor in the life/health edition of Celent`s Insurance Software Deal Trends report," says Hakan Akbas, Document Sciences Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice-President. "Our continued growth and success in the insurance industry is further evidence of our ongoing commitment to developing solutions that help organisations transform their customer communications processes and improve the overall service experience for policyholders using our award-winning technology, document expertise and acquired insights from more than 25 years of experience with Global 2000 firms."

Gavin Dunlop from Actnet, who locally represents Document Sciences, adds that Celent`s Insurance Software Deal Trends report is based on both vendor-provided and publicly available information about insurance-specific applications and infrastructure software sold to insurers in North America during 2004 and 2005.
