Johannesburg, 12 Oct 2010

JSE listed IT company, Adapt IT, has been appointed by Softline Accpac as a solutions provider for Sage ERP X3, its full-service enterprise management software system for mid-market businesses.

With a strong presence in KwaZulu-Natal, Jeremy Waterman, managing director of Softline Accpac, says the appointment will further assist the company in positioning Sage ERP X3 in the region.

“We are extremely pleased with Adapt IT's appointment. Aside from having a strong regional influence, the company also has significant experience in niche sectors such as manufacturing as well as having impressive BEE credentials.”

Adapt IT CEO Sbu Shabalala says the company selected Sage ERP X3 as part of its growth plan to be one of South Africa's leading IT services and specialised solutions provider. He says the decision to market Sage ERP X3 was influenced by Gartner's positive backing of the mid-market ERP solution. “Gartner says Sage ERP X3 has proven to be a viable solution, especially within the manufacturing space where we are particularly strong. As a strong contender in KwaZulu-Natal, we believe Sage ERP X3 will assist us to grow our current base as well as extend into new sectors such as education as well as a strong drive into Gauteng.”

With 14 years of ERP implementation experience within Adapt IT, Shabalala says Sage ERP X3 will provide the company with a compelling competitive advantage. “The product is flexible with an open architecture oriented towards Web services. It is a simple, cost-effective ERP solution suited to a variety of industry sectors.”

Shabalala says the company currently supports 80 customers remotely, guaranteeing 99.9% uptime. “We are completely at home in the support environment and understand the complexities involved in ERP implementations. We have a tried and tested model and are confident that this will translate well with Sage ERP X3.”

Adapt IT has completed several Sage ERP X3 training courses, and Shabalala says training on the solution will be a continuous and important process. “We understand what it takes to provide adequate support for an ERP solution and are totally committed to gaining the necessary knowledge and expertise required for Sage ERP X3.”
