Advanstar unveils strategy

Advanstar Communications, a worldwide media company, has unveiled a new strategic direction for its Group, focusing on the of information and CME through its centralised physician portal, ModernMedicine.com, according to Business Wire.

All existing Web sites for Advanstar`s publications for healthcare professionals will now be integrated into ModernMedicine.com, leveraging the content from the group`s five primary care publications, including Medical Economics, and its seven specialty care publications.

The physician portal will also offer article summaries from over 300 peer reviewed journals, coding and reimbursement tools, formulary status tools, a comprehensive library of CME programs, customisable patient education, coverage of more than 80 major medical conferences and valuable practice management advice.

IHTI evaluates wellness programme

Integrative Health Technologies Incorporated (IHTI) will conduct a study to evaluate the effectiveness and the return on investment of its online wellness programme, according to Business Wire.

The programme costs $2.95 each month per employee, patient or individual, paid on a month-to-month basis. A one-time cost of $30 for a pedometer-based physical activity kit is optional, but recommended.

Previous research reported participation in the programme led to healthier cholesterol levels, reduced body fat, increased work load productivity, lowered medical claims, reduced unscheduled days off, and reduced pharmaceutical costs.

Kryptiq honoured

Kryptiq, a provider of next-generation healthcare connectivity solutions, was recently acknowledged at the annual Portland Business Journal banquet, honouring the Most Admired Companies in Oregon, according to PR Newswire.

This is the second year in a row Kryptiq has been honoured by Oregon`s business community. The company received recognition as the fifth most admired technology company, as determined by a survey of more than 2 000 Oregon CEOs.

This year, more than 80 organisations were nominated in the technology category. Of the top five technology organisations, Kryptiq was the only privately-held company.
