Designed with ease of use in mind, the ProLiants include all the management tools necessary to ensure ease of deployment. From the initial operating system set up and configuration, through to continued management and optimisation over the long term, the easy-to-use management software is included with all the servers in the series.
"HP`s entry-level ProLiant DL140 is designed with all the essential performance features optimised for the SMB market," adds Wollheim. "Providing support for two Xeon processors, the DL140 workhorse functionality presents customers with a low cost, high performance, density-optimised solution.
"With its cluster scalability and 1U form-factor, the DL140 is ideal for grid computing, offering fast deployment and efficient maintenance of large-scale cluster solutions."
The DL140 features one or two Intel 2.4GHz or 3.2GHz Intel Xeon processors with a 533MHz Front Side Bus (FSB) supporting Hyper-Threading Technology.
Standard DDR SDRAM can be expanded to 4GB affording customers with maximum bandwidth for high uptime, memory performance and the assurance of effective hardware investment protection for the future.
Additionally, ATA hard drives are supported with the servers each handling a maximum internal storage capacity of 160GB. Also included as standard are dual integrated 10/100/1000 Ethernet NICs, supporting Wake-on-LAN and PXE management technologies that ensure users connecting to the servers do not suffer unnecessary bandwidth bottlenecks on the server side.
