African integrates 425 branches

The United Bank for Africa (UBA) has concluded arrangement for full integration of its processes over its 425 branches, Vanguard reports. The systems integration will enable customers to do business at any of the bank`s branches irrespective of which branch their account is held.

According to Chika Mordi, executive director , the deployment of a single banking application will go live on 6 February 2006. Mordi notes that integration will be achieved exactly one and half months ahead of schedule despite the complexities of the project.

Web services up for info integration

Results of a recent survey indicates that IT executives are increasingly interested in using web services techniques to design and deliver complex, multi-source integrations, reports the Integration Developer News.

According to the 2005 Enterprise Information Integration (EII) Survey, through which 170 IT execs, including CIOs and architects took part, there is an increasing synergy between EII and Web services, especially among organisations that have successfully deployed multiple EII applications

Banki Leumi geared to prevent money laundering

Israeli Bank Leumi has implemented an integration solution to ensure compliance with the prevention of money laundering directive 357 of the Bank of Israel, TMCnet reports.

The solution enables Bank Leumi to monitor and document all the transactions performed in a way that ensures future tracking and investigation by the bank`s internal control teams. The solution is based on Magic`s iBOLT and Magic`s eDeveloper Composite Application platform.
