Innovation Awards launched
This year will see the first of the annual Innovative Awards launched by Novell and Connexity Publishing.
This award has been established as a vehicle for all South African companies to measure their uniqueness and innovativeness in transforming businesses into competitive, dynamic organisations able to move with the times and needs of society. Companies are invited to submit their entries online at www.ionosoft.com/aoi.
Once the companies details have been submitted the entrant then completes the questionnaire. On completion of the questionnaire the entrant is immediately scored. The scoring framework used is an objective construent that has been uniquely engineered for the South African business environment and designed to be a simple yet practical tool for local firms.
These awards seek real-value contributions from the value chain revolutionaries. They aim to discover businesses that are prominent in the implementation of new technology, new or established e-enterprises that have discovered better ways of doing business, and companies that are demonstrating a determination to create new markets and vibrant market-spaces across the board
The awards will not be given lightly. A panel of prominent business experts from around the world will evaluate companies using stringent criteria for measuring value innovation and analysing success. Martha Gorman (USA), Felix Jansen (Rotterdam School of Business), Daniel Erasmus (Rotterdam School of Business) and Dave Snowden IBM Global make up the International Panel of Judges.

The winners will be announced at a gala dinner to be held on the 20th September 2001.
