By standardising wireless network plans on AirDefense Architect and AirDefense Survey, users can achieve a scalable and repeatable planning and deployment process that is a critical part of creating networks with the capacity, reliability and performance required for today's demanding mobile environments.
Network designers use AirDefense Architect to predict and simulate performance of the wireless LAN (WLAN) in a building before actually deploying wireless devices. The software considers the key factors that impact the quality of service and the security offered by a wireless network - the environment, applications and number of users - and utilises this knowledge and its impact on the intended wireless network performance when enabling the design. As a result, architects can significantly reduce costs by optimising equipment utilisation using 'what if' scenarios and by eliminating the cost of retrofitting deployed equipment.

By using an AutoCAD or electronic drawing and defining building environments from an extensive materials definition library, AirDefense Architect leverages rich 3D graphics to help designers visualise RF signal propagation in three dimensions and overcome the challenges of coverage holes, poor service areas, capacity and network resource allocation. The powerful, site-specific graphical displays enable users to efficiently and effectively track, display and document their network infrastructure.
AirDefense Survey, which provides field level measurements of 802.11 networks for site surveys, is an affordable tool that performs real-time data networking measurements such as latency, throughput and delay. Designers can use AirDefense Survey to confirm and optimise the models predicted by AirDefense Architect and rapidly verify the performance of the WLAN network.
AirDefense Architect and AirDefense Survey run on any Windows laptop or tablet PC and can use a host of popular Wi-Fi PCMCIA wireless cards as measurement receivers.
