Airline intros iPad check-in
Malaysian Airlines has introduced self-service check-in kiosks that utilise Apple iPads, In a trial at Kuala Lumpur airport, reports Southall Travel.
Passengers will now be able to perform a range of ticketing transactions at the new terminals, such as booking and paying for flights, checking in and looking up flight schedules.
The airline expects approximately 10% of its customers to use the five trial kiosks in Kuala Lumpur.
Apprupt unveils self-service affiliate network
Apprupt, an affiliate network for mobile apps, has released its self-service platform, states TechCrunch.
This enables app developers to sign up to Apprupt on a cost-per-install basis, enabling them to track their marketing campaigns for both paid and free apps.
Features include account management (including campaign spend), and reports and analytics, providing “the ability to determine the ROI at any given time” by measuring the number of app downloads generated.
Vigix debuts self-service kiosks
Cambridge-based start-up Vigix has released its slim line of self-service kiosks, says Mass High Tech.
Vigix has just closed a $1.4 million Series A round from local angel investors and now has two of its slim-profile, self-service kiosks in use by customers, CEO Steve Pytka says.
One of them is in Terminal E at Logan Airport, dispensing two types of Hello Kitty branded watches made by a division of Swatch Group. The other is at the Roche Bros grocery store in Wellesley and is selling DVDs from Sony.
