Local ICT business African Legend Indigo (AL Indigo) has lost two of its top executives, CEO Michael Jacobus and CFO Manuela Torres.
The company has confirmed the two have resigned, but spokesperson, Patricia Horn, was unavailable to provide any details to ITWeb this morning.
This is the second big blow for the empowered business since April last year, when Johannesburg- and London-listed ICT group Datatec decided to divest of 55% of the business. At the time, Datatec said that, after “a review of its South African assets”, it decided to rather turn its focus to growing its Westcon investment.
The deal gave African Legend Computing 100% of AL Indigo, which also owns 25.1% of Westcon.
According to AL Indigo's Web site, the company employs around 202 people in SA and has offices in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and Port Elizabeth. It also claims a turnover of over R500 million per year.
The company has business relationships with some of the globe's top IT vendors, including Oracle, Sun Microsystems, IBM and VMware.
At the time of Datatec's disinvestment, speculation was that the company was not happy with AL Indigo's partnership with Sun, specifically after Oracle bought out the international hardware business.
AL Indigo says a statement on the resignation of its two top executives will be released this afternoon.
